Follower Widgets On Blogs - A Great Link Back System ANd More

Image representing Google as depicted in Crunc...

Fresh from an extended weekend in the village watering melons and tending to potatoes and sweet corn, Kamila is back in the office kitchen now tending to her blog.

She has made a great realisation this morning when surfing through some blogs. She found that she had been mentioned in a friends blog: cornymans-blogreviews.blogspot.com. This was such a pleasant surprise with the nice things that Cornyman had said. He has given SEO advice to Kamila before now so he is very well versed in SEO matters with many other blogs to his name:
The One Minute Guide
All about babies and kids
Cornymans Money-Blog

This aside, Kamila has now added a section to her blog on the right hand side column. Why she didn’t think of this before is a mystery. Perhaps with so many things to think of it was a basic oversight. There is a section now for followers, (called Kamila’s Kind Friends) where you can view new posts each time they are made, this is through Google’s own “Friends Connect”.

This will now give new back links both ways, Kamila’s PR2 blog to those who follow and back to Kamila from friends’ blogs. In Kamila’s own words, “A great and simple way to add back links and make friends as well!”

Follower Widgets On Blogs - A Great Link Back System ANd MoreKamila now looks for the same system in other bloggers and follows them herself if she likes the blog. How many times has Kamila seen a blog she likes, but then can’t remember where it was? Loads! This can’t happen now with the follower widget in place. And far better than having a RSS subscription clogging up your email inbox!

“Happy days are here again!” says Kamila. “I love Mondays!”

Own Weblog Domain? - Yes Or No?

Own Weblog Domain? - Yes Or No?

Carrying on using the free blogspot or whether to get her own domain is in Kamila’s mind right now. There is a dilemma in her mind and she has to weigh up the reasons for and the reasons against to make take or not take that step.

Kamila is a camel blogger who is wising up slowly, but right at this moment in time she doesn’t really know that much about blogging and SEO. She is on a steep learning curve and has made quite a few mistakes to date, but has learnt from them.

Getting her own domain should have been done when she first started blogging, but she didn’t know this at the time. A cost of around $10 a year is all it would have cost, but it would have given her more pay per post jobs wither own domain and paid that after just a couple of posts.

Own Weblog Domain? - Yes Or No?Changing to her own domain now can be done at the click of a mouse but she will start off again with a PR0 and all her links will have to start from scratch again. Fair do, all her traffic will be redirected to her new domain and her site will have more credibility with the shorter title.

“Mmmm,” we hear Kamila murmor as she ponders the thought of the work that will be needed to bring it back to the level where she stands right now.

Decisions are hard for Kamila as she seeks advice from other bloggers on this one.

“Any advice on this one would be gratefully received!” says Kamila.

What Kamila Found Out About Keywords

What Kamila Found Out About Keywords

Keywords are something that Kamila is only beginning to find out about. She knows that if you write and article about a certain topic and use a certain word or phrase that are central to that article and these should be used as your keyword tags.

Then with this in place, if anyone uses a search engine and wants to find articles on a certain topic they are more likely to get your article if you use the keywords or phrase in your title. Put it in a few times early on in the article i.e. in the first sentence and first paragraph, perhaps highlighted in bold to give more importance to these words. They can also be used any ‘alt’ sections of pictures in your article HTML code.

Now Kamila read about this and can see why blogger do this to get higher up the search ranks and will now try and follow this SEO code of good practice – My Oh My Kamila that does sound rather geeky!

What Kamila Found Out About KeywordsAnyway Kamila though a good idea to share what she found out as it doesn’t take much effort to get the keywords in place and to do the business of getting more traffic from readers using search engines. Kamila knows that most bloggers don’t bother with this and therefore if you do you will have a distinct advantage over them.

She hope this helps bloggers a bit.

Regards to you all from Kamila.

Kamila Is Given Blog Directory Advice

Kamila Is Given Blog Directory AdviceKamila had a message from a business blogger friend called Richard. She was given here some advice on directories after writing about directories in her blog yesterday.

Basically the advice that was given was to combine back links from blog directories with back links from the articles submitted to article directories with topics being related to your blog keywords.

Richard says that this can deliver far more targeted traffic to your own blog.

He has compiled a list of the Top 101 Directories along with RSS Submission Sites. Kamila was very impressed when she found that there are currently 452 entries listed with no dead links. Dead links in directories is something that Kamila finds very annoying and only found out after filling in the details!

Richard went on to say that to get the best results, Kamila should try and submit a minimum of 3 and up to 5 directories a day.

His site with the directories he has compiled can be found here -> List Of Blog Directories
