Kamila In Competition Mode

Kamila In Competition ModeKamila has yet again been dropped to a PR0. This now has become a yo-yo of events for her as she was a PR2 then a PR0 then a PR3 then a PR2 again and now a PR0 again, and all in the space of a month!

This aside and still gloating about the Adgitize money she got this month, Kamila is now onto a new venture in her spare time. She is now entering competitions to try and win things. She got the idea off a post from Dosh For U where the suggestion of entering all competition that are free and the more you do the better you get at it and the more chance you have to win something.
So in addition to blogging and of course bog competitions as well, Kamila is surfing for competitions sites that give lists of competitions to enter.

Don't forget Cornymans Money-Blog and the 1,000,00 EC competition should also be the first your enter!

There is a four-day holiday in Bulgaria from Saturday to Tuesday and she will be in the village farmhouse harvesting grapes with her friends. There is no Internet there so please forgive Kamila not dropping for that time. She will return on Wednesday with hoof aloof dropping as usual.

“Love to all,” says Kamila

By the way Kamila got an email from Entrecard saying they have introduced a referral program for members with 300 credits for referrals made. If you aren’t a member you won’t know about this if you are then you should. EC Credits don’t seem to have the value they used to have somehow Kamila feels.

Thoughts Of New Ways Of Making More Money By Blogging

Thoughts Of New Ways Of Making More Money By BloggingKamila hope everyone had a great weekend - She did popping peppers on the barbecue!

Back to blogging mode, Kamila has looked again at how you can make more inroads to making money online other than Pay Per Post jobs that a detrimental to your blog in Google assessing PR. Kamila has seen quite clearly this puts so many people off that building their blogs up to qualify for posts then see all their hard work undone isn’t worth the effort.

With AdBrite and AdSense thematic systems that pay for being clicked on, Kamila has found that you need massive traffic to get anywhere near enough just to cover Internet overheads. Kamila’s team has made nearly $200, but it has taken near on 18 months to earn that on AdSense. The AdBrite was experimented on for a couple of months and Kamila earned less than a dollar, no good at all and all down to lack of traffic. Even with hundreds of EC droppers each day, this kind of traffic does not venture into AdSense or AdBrite systems as 99% are drop and run traffic.

So without major traffic and being hoodwinked into thinking that Entrecard traffic does the job, there is a dead end for the vast majority of bloggers trying to earn this way. Other avenues have to be around and the trend nowadays for decent traffic is competitions. Mr Cornyman (Martin) with his blog http://cornys-moneypage.blogspot.com/ and the 1,000,000 EC competition has taken the bull by the horns by initiating the biggest competition to date and it will be very interesting to see what kind of results he gets on this blog. He is using Entrecard as the pivotal centre of the competition, nothing wrong with that as Entrecard encourages it, naturally.

There are many other way to make a bit more blogging and Kamila know you have to be quite original in though and almost unique with ideas that might work. She does know that the wheel can be invented time and time again and with this an old method maybe that had become obsolete a few years ago with be re introduced with a new hat and take off again. A year ago the award chain blogging was the top, this has died now, this will of course come back to popularity in the future, but not as we know it.

In the meantime, if you are a EC member give Mr Cornyman some support with sponsoring EC credits, Ad space, hard dosh, or other prizes that might want to give away. Kamila has given ad space and 5000 EC credits and feels good about it, not just from getting good backlinks either! His site is here Cornys Moneypage Blog or just click on the box below for details of the competition.

Weekend Blogging And Dropping To Stop?

productive weekend 1Image by Divwerf via Flickr

Kamila is in a bit of a dilemma from a frugal point of view. Here in Bulgaria Kamila uses the Internet in two places. The first in the City of Yambol in the family home, then at weekends she uses the Internet at the farmhouse in the village. The problem lies in that there are two lots of Internet bills.

The town house monthly Internet connection is 22 leva per month and the farmhouse connection 25 leva per month. Even though the village connection is more expensive it substantially slower than the town connection, it takes hours and hours for sites to be downloaded to drop on and of course only used two days of the week. Kamila doesn’t earn enough to cover the cost of both Internet connections so she is seriously think of just being a 5-day-a week blogger and is trying to weigh up what will be lost by not blogging or dropping on Saturday and Sundays.

It seems such a simple decision to make, but there is a sense of letting the side down by not dropping and clicking on 51 Adgitize ads on those weekend days of the week. This will mean her team’s position will drop like a lead balloon in most communities.

Kamila will be thinking about this all today. The bill for August’s Internet connection is due on the 11th August. Will it be paid or will is be discontinued. It can be started up any time again in the future without penalty, that a bonus. I think we know what the decision will be, after all, there is a life outside Entrecard and Kamila thinks that too many bloggers should get out more at weekend especially in glorious summer days as we have right now.

“Bring back free weekends again!” Kamila says.

PS
The holiday break is now booked. Kamila will let you know when she is off.

Entrecard - Profiteering and Expensive Ads

Entrecard - Profiteering and Expensive Ads

Kamila is back on the subject of Entrecard again after receiving an email telling her that EC credits are on sale from Entrecard. Here are the details:

10000 Entrecard Credits - USD$56.00 (get another 5,000 credits bonus!)
25000 Entrecard Credits - USD$125.00 (get another 12,000 credits bonus!)
So, for 1000 credits the cheapest you can buy these at until 1st August (tomorrow) is $3.38. This rises to $5 - $5.60 per 1000 as the now the normal price. Now Kamila isn’t being funny, but the previous $1 per 1000 EC that were being cashed in seems a drop in the ocean compared to what the going rate it now. She can’t see many people taking up this at these rates and to be quite honest advertising on Entrecard was always a pretty expensive business anyway even on $1 per 1000 EC credits.

Kamila can see why the EC credits for cash has been stopped as this would undermine the profits made by Entrecard. Again Kamila like many other bloggers aren’t too bother about that, but buying EC credits at the rate they are asking for is nothing short of robbery. Whether she thinks that because she has lived on a shoestring in Bulgaria too long may have affected her thinking.

Supply and demand rules in any business and Kamila thinks that this ‘offer’ won’t go do too well with EC members who just see it a profiteering. It will balance out though, and if no EC credits are bought they will have rethink.

Entrecard - Profiteering and Expensive AdsKamila thinks that the bottom line is Entrecard is a business and that business was bought to make money and no other reason. So why should we all be surprised with how things are developing here.

One last point Kamila must make is that it the wonderful Entrecard blogger members that make it worth staying in the community and that's why she is still here.

"Have a 1000 weekend, sorry a grand weekend!" Kamila says

Money And Paid Ads No Big Loss For Many On Entrecard

More pertaining to a parrot then a camel Kamila will repeat the news that Entrecard is ending EC to convert to cash alongside the dropping of paid ads. Well we all knew this was coming it was just a matter of time before the cat was let out of the bags. Kamila now wonders how many EC members will leave the bandwagon knowing that this is not a cash driven community any more.

In a way although Kamila has lost the opportunity to cash her EC credits, which were being saved for a digital camera (and she has a hefty sum) they are still valuable in a different way. Using the EC credits for more advertising and buying goods and services the EC market place in some ways is just as good as cash.

It is with a sigh of relief from Kamila that paid ads are dropped, this was a bone of contention to many EC members, with Kamila as no exception. She felt that many members were put off with only getting half the exposure for the same ‘fee’ was a bit of a rip off.

Money And Paid Ads No Big Loss For Many On EntrecardThe new owners have been decisive and made decisions that won’t please all, but those EC members who joined for the reasons of upping traffic and community spirit must be dancing a little, Kamila did a little jig when she heard.

Kamila thought again and wonders whether anyone would like to put a digital camera up in EC marketplace for Kamila to buy with credit. This would be a great help to her and her master.

“Have fun over the weekend!” Kamila says.

Drop And Run - A Natural Process In Blogging

Drop And Run - A Natural Process In Blogging

Kamila understands why people are moaning about drop and run bloggers on Entrecard and Adgitize? The ‘bounce’ factor is a concern to many who fear Google will think their blogs are not keeping people’s attention. But the extent of criticism Kamila feels is unfair.

There is a demand to just click for traffic by drop and run tactics and that’s one option many people take especially if their blogs desperately need traffic. If bloggers don’t want this type of traffic, (bouncing traffic) then they can quite simply withdraw their membership from communities that churn this type of traffic out. There is no point just moaning about all that does is create a bad feeling and alienate bloggers it is better to just move on. On Entrecard this will probably change soon though.

Kamila puts her hands up and admits she does sometimes run through some blogs on a drop and run basis, but she dwells on those that create interest for her. It is natural that good blogs will get less of a, ‘bounce’ type traffic. Most bloggers will pause, read, comment and perhaps interact with interesting elements on some blogs they find that distracts the when they are clicking through. Then others they will just click through. There is no point in dwelling on a blog that you have no interest in. She can’t see what all the fuss and bad feeling is.

There will always be a certain percentage of bloggers who will just be there for quick clicks, but for Entrecard now to put a detection system in on drop and run bloggers so they won’t get credits Kamila feels is a bit extreme. If blogs surfed aren’t of interest to bloggers they just won’t bother visiting them after initial assessment in the first instance.

Drop And Run - A Natural Process In BloggingIn all instances Kamila will continue to use the same method of dropping on those who have dropped on her and many will be paused upon if Kamila finds them drawing her in. Others she will just bypass, will she click on the latter if there is no credit involved? Mmmmm, knowing Kamila she will because she is that type of camel, but other bloggers, well we’ll see.

"HAVE A LOVELY WEKEND YA ALL!" - Says Kamila

Kamila's Choice - Firefox 3.5 or EC Toolbar - Who Won?

Kamila's Choice - Firefox 3.5 or EC Toolbar - Who Won?After a weekend of violent storms and broken power cables in the village farmhouse, Kamila was quite relieved to get back to the Yambol City house. It had been quite a scary time with the weather the last 48 hours.

It was back to blogging and Kamila is beginning to experiment with new programmes and system to make life a little easier with certain chores online. One very useful tool she had recently found was the Entrecard toolbar. She could drop any time she wanted using the toolbar menu and didn’t have to log into Entrecard each time. She had been using this for a few weeks now and thought she couldn’t live without it.

Then Mozilla came out with a new Firefox 3.5 browser version and Kamila downloaded this with great gusto as the previous version had many glitches. Once downloaded she found that the EC toolbar wouldn’t function as it wasn’t compatible with the new version of Firefox!

So Kamila was faced with a choice of the EC toolbar and the older Firefox 3.1 version with its glitches, or leave the new firefox 3.5 browser running and live without the EC toolbar. She chose the latter only because of the annoying bugs that the older version of firefox kept throwing at her.

Kamila's Choice - Firefox 3.5 or EC Toolbar - Who Won?Kamila also wrote to Entrecard (Graham) and asked whether the EC toobar can be modified to run with Mozilla Firefox 3.5. Hopefully this can be done and Kamila will have the best of both worlds.

Kamila wonders whether anyone else has had to choose between the two and if so what was your choice?

Entrecard Credits For Top Ten Droppers From July

Entrecard Credits For Top Ten Droppers From JulyKamila has decided to make an offer to Entrecard users and after much deliberation decided that the most loyal of droppers should be rewarded for their time, kindness and thought.

As from the coming month of July and every month thereon Kamila will be awarding 100 ECs for the top ten droppers and a gifting a whopping 300 ECs for the blogger in the number one spot. She is basically giving away 1200 ECs each month.

Entrecard Credits For Top Ten Droppers From JulyIn addition to this she will be adding the top ten droppers to her favourites (unless they are already there of course) and subsequently plan to drop on them every day. This is something she does already with June’s top ten droppers anyway.

Kamila is very happy to do this, as she is not only a caring camel, but also a generous one.

Here are Kamila's Entrecard Dropping Heroes for June:

Kamila Remains A Blogspot Blogger

Image representing Blogger as depicted in Crun...

Kamila has decided to remain under the blogspot banner. This wasn’t an easy decision and it was based on the fact that she has seen many other esteemed bloggers happily running blogs on the same format. At the end of the day a re-run of building up her PR from scratch and looking many back links is a step too far and she does intend to become a blogging empire. She just wants to earn a few dollars a day to help out the Bulgarian family she lives with. What she should have done was get her own domain when starting up, that is the advice that comes out loud and clear from more experienced bloggers.

So, Kamila is not changing anything right now and is quite content with that.

On another front, Kamila tried out the ‘Entrebar’ system where you can drop from a menu bar without having to go into the Entrecard site. She found it useful but there were little bugs in the system that caused the bar to mix up with the existing navigation bar when not actively in use. Also she couldn’t drop on cards that had been dropped on her from the day before. As the new day starts at 7:00 in the morning in Bulgaria, Kamila likes to do her drops just after the day kicks in and there are only a couple of droppers for that new day. She doesn’t like the idea of dropping in the evening as she joins the Bulgarian family outside each evening. With this in mind she does not use the system, but feels it would be good for others who have different routines.

“Have a lovely weekend,” says Kamila.

Above The Fold For Entrecard? - Kamila Thinks

Above The Fold For Entrecard? - Kamila Thinks

Kamila has only just discovered what above the fold means. It is the view of a site you get on the initial view of the site, i.e. before any scrolling down is done. Above the fold seems to be a requirement to many Entrecard members in fact Kamila has found out that many lists have been made up of Entrecard sites that only have the EC widget above the fold.

This is a bit of a giveaway that those who just drop on above the fold positioned widgets are the drop and run brigade. With this is mind Kamila is no seriously thinking whether it is worth putting her EC widget below the fold to avoid the bounce factor.

Above The Fold For Entrecard? - Kamila ThinksThe way Kamila drops is based on those who have dropped on her, she has not list other than from the Entrecard menu that show which bloggers have dropped on her. She feels that just getting a list for speed and convenience isn’t in the spirit of Entrecard so won’t entertain this, even is hundred of others do.

The thinking cap in on Kamila again with this discovery, but she won’t do anything hasty.

“Have a good day!” says Kamila

Entrecard Drop and Linger Idea

The Way The Ball Bounces

Kamila is now regularly dropping on 50 Entrecard members a day. For most people and camels this should take about 20-30 minutes, but for Kamila is takes her nearly an hour, as she gets distracted from the task of dropping into the task of reading interesting posts.

This of course is a benefit for both camel and Entrecard members who Kamila call on. From Kamila’s point of view she is learning man y things as she travels through wave after wave of post, many about how to blog successfully. On the other side, each read she makes when Google will not see these particular drops as ‘bounce’ hits.

Perhaps it might be a good idea to start up a reciprocal group where the droppers purposely hang around on dropping to get the ‘full’ credit of a genuine visit. Kamila knows there must be a market out there for such a service from what she reads.

If there is any interest from anyone, Kamila would like to know and she’ll put them of the list of daily drops ensuring that when she does drop, she’ll linger. Of course she’d like any party to do the same – It is a trusting camel that asks.

“Enjoy your Sunday” says Kamila.

Out With Adsense - In With AdBrite

Image representing AdBrite as depicted in Crun...

Kamila though long and hard about gettgin rid of AdSense and the bottom line was it wasn't earning anything at all. Even when clicks were being made on the adsm Kamila found that they were only worth a couple of cents at most or nothing, more often nothing. The AdBrite system now has a chance to make a bit more hopefully.

She had to do something and now Kamila has opted for AdBrite. She will give this a go for a while as it can't do any harm. Kamila wants to make a statement about it:

Out With Adsense - In With AdBrite"I've given AdSense a chance and it didn't work out as I didn't like the idea of being financially being force out of my Entrecard membership. I though that AdBrite looks quite a good program that takes on ads in the same way, but with a free hand to do what you want on your blog."

Well Kamlia, that really does look like you have taken the right choice and the bullying tactics of Google certain was the last straw that broke the Camel's back!

AdSense To Go?

Google Adsense Page Navigation

Kamila has been doing a bit of research into AdSense for the very simple reason she was getting clicks on here Google AdSense ads, but they were only giving here one cent or nothing at all! She did hear that there was a rumour going about that if you are an avid user of Entrecard and you have AdSense on your blog as well, they are at loggerheads with each other.

It seems to Kamila that she might have to consider giving up AdSense if this is the case. There is no question about her giving up Entrecard as it is making more than AdSense and gives her traffic not to mention the number of friends she has there money at all at the moment as it stands.

AdSense To Go?She may decide to use another Pay Per Click system that isn’t affected by bloggers active in the Entrecard community. She is definitely looking into this right now and will give a report when she finds out about the options open.

Kamila thinks it will be a pity to lose AdSense, but she is now a business blogger trying to earn her keep and things that look pretty sitting on her blog isn’t enough, it has to be working for her.

Entrecard Tactics Coming From Kamila

Entrecard Tactics Coming From KamilaKamila has been dropping in on Entrecards recently, but not getting much success. She says that she'd rather just drop on bloggers who had and Entrecard that can be seen on the opening page, called "Above the crease," to save time.

Lookikng at the bloggers who dropped in return to her, there wasn't many who were doing it and Kamila couldn't understand why? Then she sat down asn thought about it. There is no point dropping on blogs that don't return the compliment, there is certainly not any money in it and no traffci either.

Entrecard Tactics Coming From KamilaThen it came suddenly to Kamila, she will try dropping on all those that have dropped on her. On the dashboard is a tab called "Drops inbox". This shows all the blogger that have called and dropped on your blog. Kamila now is going to visit this and drop on all those who dropped on her and see whether the results on return are better. She is quite sure the will be and that here previous dropabove the crease blogs only was a beginners mistake.

Kamila is quite proud that she is now looking as things sensibly rather than just going at it like a camel in a china shop!

Take Care Says Kamila :)
